COIDA stands for the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, officially known as Act No. 130 of 1993. It is a South African law designed to provide no-fault compensation to employees who are injured or contract diseases during the course of their employment, or to their dependants in the event of death resulting from such incidents .
